We are seeking mid to senior level Tax Professional's for project-based work for activities related to FDIC bank receivership for inclusion into our pre-award program. This is a remote job opportunity, but travel will be required.
- Title: Tax Professional
- Location: Remote
- Hourly Rate: Market Rate
- Ensures that each receivership fully complies with all federal, state, local, U.S. territory and international tax laws (including all income tax and employment tax filings, as well as information and withholding returns).
- Responsible for executing the day-to-day requirements, including performance objectives, set forth in the TO.
- Responsible for performing complex tax-related tasks and provides technical assistance to contractor staff.
- Responsible for implementing technical direction from the PM.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university with a major in Accounting.
- Authorized to represent taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service pursuant to the U.S. Treasury Department Circular No. 230 (e.g., attorney, certified public accountant, enrolled agent, registered tax return preparer, etc.) or the international equivalent (when asked for in the task order)
- The Tax Professional shall have tax consulting and compliance experience with a public accounting firm and/or financial institution.
- Have working knowledge of tax statutes, regulations, case law and other guidance specific to the taxation of receiverships and/or financial institutions
- Experience in the preparation of federal and state income tax returns, including consolidated and stand-alone entities, C- and $-corporations.
- Ability to clearly articulate complex tax information and concepts.
- Capacity to analyze corporate financial statements and tax records.
- Ability to understand and prepare complex tax workpapers.
- Knowledge of IRS examination, collection, appeals, correspondence, and return processing procedures.
- Experience interacting with federal, state and local taxing authorities.
- Ability to coordinate various tax compliance activities in a time-sensitive environment.
- Ability to research complex federal, state, local, U.S. Territory and international tax issues.
- Fluent in the use of tax compliance applications such as CCH Axcess, One Source, and Intuit.
- Master's Degree in Taxation or licensed Certified Public Accountant or attorney specializing in tax law.
