Must Have Experience in Public Accounting AND Real Estate
Will Consider a Tax Senior OR Tax Manager Level Candidate:
Base Salary: $90,000 - 135,000 (*Fully Remote)
Responsibilities
- Tax Compliance: Ensure timely and accurate filing of all required tax returns, including income tax, sales tax, and other relevant taxes at the federal, state, and local levels. Monitor tax law and regulation changes to maintain compliance and minimize tax liabilities.
- Tax Planning: Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize the organization's tax position while ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Guide on tax implications of business decisions, including mergers, acquisitions, and restructuring.
- Financial Reporting: Collaborate with the finance team to accurately reflect tax provisions and liabilities in financial statements. Prepare and review tax-related disclosures for financial reporting purposes.
- Audit Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for tax audits conducted by regulatory authorities. Coordinate with external auditors to provide necessary documentation and support during tax audits.
- Team Leadership: Providing guidance on tax matters and fostering professional development. Allocate resources effectively to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality work.
- Tax Research: Stay abreast of changes in tax laws, regulations, and rulings to assess their impact on the organization. Research complex tax issues and provide recommendations to management.
- Relationship Management: Build and maintain relationships with external tax advisors, auditors, and regulatory authorities. Represent the organization in tax-related matters and negotiate favorable outcomes when necessary.
- Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve tax processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Implement best practices and leverage technology solutions to streamline tax compliance and reporting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field; CPA or advanced degree in taxation preferred.
- 5+ years' of Experience of professional tax experience
- Strong communication and analytical skills
- US Based Position
- Minimum of 5 years of Experience in tax compliance, planning, and strategy, preferably in a corporate environment or public accounting firm.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations, with expertise in areas relevant to the organization's industry and operations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex tax laws and apply them to business situations.
- Proven leadership experience, with the ability to effectively manage and develop a team of tax professionals.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact confidently with internal stakeholders, external advisors, and regulatory authorities.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and compliance and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in tax software and ERP systems; experience with data analysis and reporting tools preferred.
Nice to have Experience:
- Masters in Taxation
- CPA License
- Experience with clients in the following industries: Construction, Healthcare, Real Estate, Manufacturing, Non-Profit, Restaurants, Retail, and technology.
