Job Description - Tax Operations Coordinator
Role Description: The Tax Operations Coordinator is responsible for working in the areas people, process, and technology for the practice. They are responsible for helping to develop and maintain the end-to-end tax compliance workflow, from engagement acceptance to filing, including personnel, staffing, and potential outsourcing strategies. Monitoring technology solutions including current operations and long-term strategy. Analyzing applicable data to measure departmental performance. Collaborating with other team members on industry and vendor relationships, including consulting and technology companies. Working closely with members of the team at all levels and overseeing the allocation of resources to all tax projects throughout the firm.

Job Description - Tax Operations Coordinator
Role Description: The Tax Operations Coordinator is responsible for working in the areas people, process, and technology for the practice. Working closely with members of the team at all levels and overseeing the allocation of resources to all tax projects throughout the firm.
Summary of Responsibilities:
- Be a member of the Tax Technology Champions Team to evaluate and help transform our tax compliance workflow through process improvement, technology, risk management and organizational design, including a review, mapping, and assessment of internal processes regarding staffing, scheduling, hiring and retention.
- Oversee resource allocation amongst practice offices and tax sectors to ensure balanced and efficient workflow, including analyzing utilization and making recommendations to firm leadership.
- Manage resource dashboard to ensure we have, at a glance, all pertinent information available to monitor existing resources in the practice updated to reflect all movement timely.
- Use of CCH Workflow to assist in developing goals and internal deadlines for deliverables. Develop best practices for continuous improvement in use of Workflow by partners and professional staff to effectively move deliverables through workflow processing.
- Facilitate and assist with talent acquisition process, by maintenance of staff workloads and collaborate with recruiting on hiring plan.
- Analyze and distribute scheduling reports weekly, working with management to appropriately assign resources to tax client engagements.
- Help employees gain appropriate experiences for their career progression by deploying resources effectively and balance staff workloads while meeting client needs.
- Resolve scheduling conflicts and update schedules as needed.
- Proactively address employee issues including utilization, morale, and performance.
- Ability to coordinate and follow up on multiple tasks in quick and efficient manner.
- Assist in onboarding new employees to ensure a smooth transition into the firm.
Qualifications:
- Working to advanced knowledge of Microsoft office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Working to advanced knowledge of Tax Applications including CCH Axcess Tax, CCH Workflow, SurePrep, and SafeSend Returns
- 5+ years’ experience in project management, resource management, and/or operations management.
- Previous experience working within a professional services environment.
- Previous experience navigating a myriad of executive-level professionals with diverse personality styles & strengths.
- Previous experience managing team members.
