Title: Tax Operations Analyst
Location: NYC
Remote/Hybrid/Onsite: Role is Hybrid and will require in office attendance 3 days/week.
Position Type: Contract, possible temp-to-perm
Duration: 12+ months
Rate: $23.00 - $25.00/hr
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Tax knowledge related to year-end tax reporting for 1099's and 1042-S forms and documentations (W8Ben, W8Bene, W8IMY, W8Exp, W8 ECI and W9)
- Highly skilled in customer service, ability to work independently
- Ability to work nights and weekends during the months of Jan to April (tax season) and as needed - Soft skills as they will be on the phones with FA/CSAs
- Eagerness to learn and ability to analyze issues and escalate High Level Primary Responsibilities which include assisting Financial Advisors via MSSN/PSN calls and Case Management tickets that are sent to Tax Ops-Assist in reviewing Year End Processing, Mass corrections, IRS Files, Reclasses
- Processing daily reconciliation and adhoc break report reviews
- Assisting in creating and reviewing audit procedure documentation-Knowledge in IRS Chapter 3 & 4 NRA and FATCA regulations-Knowledge of withholding and reporting
- Must be familiar with the various types of client account classifications, tax document requirements and associated withholding and reporting requirements
- Proficiency with Excel and relevant computer programs is required
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Prior experience in the Financial Industry is HIGHLY preferred.
- Understanding of client service, process controls, with the ability to learn internal systems quickly
- Superior Communication Skills, both oral and written
- Ability to work independently well within a team environment
- Excellent Time Management, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to concurrently manage multiple projects, and prioritize effectively to meet tight and enforced Operational and annual deadlines for the firm
- Attention to detail and quality of work
- Ability to consistently exercise sound and decisive judgment
- Commitment to personal development
