- Oversee and manage the preparation and review of 1099 and 1041 tax returns.
- Handle high net worth (HNW) tax matters, ensuring all tax obligations are met in a timely manner.
- Manage state tax issues, including compliance, audits, planning, and research.
- Develop and implement strategic tax planning for all necessary federal and state taxes.
- Manage members of the tax team as they prepare components of the company's US federal income tax return and state tax returns.
- Conduct complex tax research and prepare tax memorandums dealing with a wide range of corporate and partnership tax issues.
- Work closely with management to provide innovative tax strategies to minimize tax liability and coordinate audits with various taxation authorities.
- Review and update the company's tax policies and procedures to ensure compliance with changing tax laws and regulations.
Job Details
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree in Taxation or a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is highly desirable.
- A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in a tax role, preferably in the finance industry.
- Extensive knowledge of tax laws and regulations at the federal and state levels.
- Proven experience with 1099 and 1041 tax returns, HNW tax, and state tax.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and guide a team.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
- High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
