We are actively seeking a dynamic and experienced Tax Manager to join our fast-paced finance team. The chosen candidate will play a crucial role in managing and overseeing our tax operations, ensuring compliance with the latest regulations, and providing strategic tax planning. This role offers an excellent opportunity to lead and develop a team, interact with senior management, and make a significant impact on our company's financial operations. Responsibilities:
As a Tax Manager, your responsibilities will include:
1. Overseeing all aspects of tax accounting and compliance, including the preparation and review of tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, trusts, and estates.
2. Developing and implementing strategic tax planning for all necessary federal and state taxes.
3. Managing members of the tax team as they prepare components of the company's US federal income tax return and state tax returns.
4. Managing and facilitating IRS income tax audits: preparing responses, creating schedules, etc.
5. Staying abreast of current developments in the tax area and providing tax research, advice, and planning services on a variety of tax matters.
6. Assisting with quarterly and annual tax forecasting for financial planning.
7. Working with the finance department to ensure accurate and timely tax payments.
8. Reviewing current and deferred tax provision calculations, and coordinating audits with external auditors.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, you must possess the following qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree in Taxation or a CPA certification is preferred.
2. Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in public accounting or a similar environment.
3. Comprehensive understanding and experience with tax operations for individuals, corporations, partnerships, trusts, estates, and pass-through entities.
4. Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax codes, regulations, and procedures.
5. Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a team.
6. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
7. Proficient in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
8. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex tax information in a clear and concise manner.
9. High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
