Tax Supervisor
Are you a skilled Tax Supervisor seeking an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic public accounting team in Maryland? We are currently seeking a talented individual to join our team as a Tax Manager. As a member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing tax preparation and review processes for a diverse range of clients, including individuals, businesses, and trusts. Additionally, you will provide invaluable tax planning and consulting services, ensuring compliance with federal and state tax regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and mentor tax team members, providing guidance and support throughout the tax preparation process.
- Prepare and review tax returns for individuals, partnerships, trusts, foundations, and corporations, focusing on complex high net worth families and middle market operating businesses and real estate.
- Review and respond to IRS and state taxing authority letters and notices.
- Evaluate state and local excise and personal property returns, as well as federal and state payroll returns.
- Oversee client bookkeeping and ensure accuracy.
- Provide year-end and other tax planning services to clients.
- Conduct and manage complex tax research projects.
- Develop and implement budgets, processes, and systems to optimize efficiency.
- Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and exceptional service.
- Proactively identify and solve problems to ensure client satisfaction.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant tax experience in public accounting.
- CPA certification preferred.
- Bachelor's Degree required (Master's Degree is a plus).
- Proficiency in software such as ProSystemsfx Tax, fixed asset software, and Advance Flow.
