Our Real Estate Solutions Team provides accounting, tax, and consulting services to commercial and residential real estate developers; particularly those who utilize low-income housing, historic rehabilitation, or renewable energy tax credits to finance their projects.
As a Tax Manager with the Mahoney Real Estate Solutions Team, you will assume a pivotal role in providing a variety of tax and accounting functions for clients, including:
- Application of tax rules and technical audit skills to review and sign partnership tax returns, financial statements, and cost certifications
- Proficiently identify, address, and resolve intricate tax or audit challenges, while researching complex issues and providing well-informed solutions
- Utilize strong interpersonal skills to deliver expert real estate consulting services and innovative solutions for projects
- Foster long-lasting client relationships across the entire project lifecycle, from pre-development through successful exit strategies
- Consistently provide effective communication across organization levels internally and with various clients
- Lead, manage, and develop staff while sustaining a dynamic team environment
- Utilization of Excel and Word for the following tasks:
- Analyze large amounts of data, create financial reports, and generate reports
- Create and manage financial statements, tax returns, and audit reports
- Automate tasks such as data entry, report generation, and data analysis
Our preferred candidates will have:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; a Master of Business Taxation is a plus
- CPA license and 5+ years of experience in public accounting
- Experience in Real Estate, Low Income Housing Tax Credits, and Historic Tax Credits is a plus
- Prior experience with CCH software products (Axcess Tax, Engagement, Document) is a plus
We offer a competitive base pay range of $90,000 to $115,000 per year. During busy season, most accountants work 55-hour weeks.
