Tax Manager - Virtual Company

About the Job
Responsibilities:
- Oversee US and Canada tax compliance calendars and provide required financial info.
- Coordinate with tax advisors on acquisitions, dispositions, and timely tax filings.
- File sales tax, GST, and PST in both countries; monitor transfer pricing.
- Manage REIT compliance, including asset/income testing, checklists, demand letters, and property questionnaires.
- Oversee property tax assessments, coordinate appeals, and calculate passthrough schedules.
- Perform tax return reconciliation for new asset acquisitions.
- Assist with month-end closing, general ledger tasks, and account reconciliation for discrepancies.
- 5+ years’ experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- Experience in real estate tax compliance
- Working knowledge of GAAP and best practices for completing month-end close
- Ability to work with multiple legal entities under different legal umbrellas
