We are on the lookout for a dynamic and highly motivated Permanent Tax Manager to join our thriving Mortgage industry team. This high-impact role is perfect for a seasoned professional with a background in public accounting and taxation. As a Tax Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all tax-related matters, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing strategic tax planning. This is an exciting opportunity to leverage your expertise, grow your career, and make a significant contribution to our organization's success.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the preparation and review of federal and state income tax returns for C-Corp and S-Corp, partnerships, and REITs.
- Ensure accurate, timely filing of consolidated federal, state, and local income tax returns and other business-related filings.
- Develop and implement strategic tax planning for all necessary federal and state taxes.
- Manage members of the tax team as they prepare components of the company's US federal income tax return and state tax returns.
- Manage the organization's tax policies and strategies, ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations.
- Research and evaluate tax implications of complex business transactions, presenting findings to management.
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors to manage audits and inquiries by governmental authorities.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments, communicate the effects of these developments to management and the tax team, and create strategies to capitalize on changes to taxation legislation.
Qualifications:
- CPA license is required.
- Master's Degree in Taxation is strongly preferred.
- A minimum of 2-5 years of experience in Public Accounting.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Tax Manager.
- Extensive experience with C-Corp and S-Corp returns, partnerships, and REIT tax compliance.
- Strong knowledge of tax code, compliance, and procedures for corporations.
- Familiarity with U.S. federal, state, and local reporting requirements.
- Strong accounting, analytical, and research skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills, flexibility, and the ability to prioritize work assignments.
- Extreme attention to detail and ability to work and learn independently and within a team environment.
