Axalta is searching for a Tax Manager (North America), to join our team in Glen Mills, PA!
As Tax Manager, you will be responsible for preparing the quarterly income tax provision calculations for the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico; federal, provincial, state and local jurisdictions and for reviewing the associated annual income tax returns and quarterly estimated payments. Additionally, you will assist in preparation of the consolidated global tax provision on interim and year end basis.

As Tax Manager, you will be responsible for preparing the quarterly income tax provision calculations for the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico; federal, provincial, state and local jurisdictions and for reviewing the associated annual income tax returns and quarterly estimated payments. Additionally, you will assist in preparation of the consolidated global tax provision on interim and year end basis.
In this role you will:
- Review federal, provincial, state, and local income, withholding and franchise tax working papers, tax returns and support calculations.
- Prepare the quarterly federal, provincial, state, and local income, withholding and franchise tax estimated payments and extensions.
- Communicate effectively with other associates in the Company to gather the information necessary to file accurate tax returns on a timely basis.
- Prepare the North America deferred and current taxes, both at year-end and periodically during the year under ASC 740, including any associated journal entries.
- Participate in the monthly reconciliation of the tax-related balance sheet accounts.
- Assist in the preparation of the global tax provision consolidation, both at year-end and periodically during the year under ASC 740
- Assist with federal, provincial, state, and local, tax audit examinations including the compilation of data requested by various taxing authorities.
- Utilize tax compliance and provision software and general ledger systems to increase department efficiency and accuracy including training others in the use of these systems.
- Research and analyze tax issues related to the Company.
- Assist with the interpretation of new tax laws, regulations and court cases to help determine the impact on the Company.
In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:
- College Degree (Bachelors Level).
- Minimum 4 years of experience preparing U.S. income tax provision calculations for a mid to large corporation or for a public accounting firm.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel including working with large data, pivot tables and macros.
- Knowledge of US GAAP and ASC 740.
- Ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels in the organization, verbally and in writing.
The following skills are preferred for this role:
- Big 4 Accounting firm experience strongly preferred.
- Certified Public Accountant designation preferred (or in progress).
- Knowledge of OneSource Income Tax/Provision, Hyperion, SAP.
- Basic knowledge of Alteryx
