Job Details
Responsibilities:
1. Manage and oversee all aspects of the company's tax function, including planning, compliance, and audit defense.
2. Develop and implement effective tax strategies to minimize tax liability and maximize tax savings.
3. Review and approve all tax returns and ensure they are accurate and filed on time.
4. Conduct research on complex tax issues and provide clear, concise, and practical tax advice to senior management.
5. Identify and mitigate tax risks and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax regulations.
6. Collaborate with external tax advisors and auditors as needed.
7. Stay up-to-date with changes in tax law and regulations and advise management on the financial implications of such changes.
8. Provide training and guidance to other members of the finance team on tax-related matters.
9. Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or CPA certification is preferred.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax advisory, with a focus on health care, construction, or real estate industries, entertainment, service or construction/real estate industries.
3. In-depth knowledge of tax laws and regulations at the federal, state, and local levels.
4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle complex tax issues.
5. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain tax concepts to non-tax professionals.
6. Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to lead a team and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
7. Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.
8. High level of integrity and professionalism, with the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
9. Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
10. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
