About the Job
Our client, a well-known professional services firm, which is a top-tier accounting, tax and advisory practice with a long history of serving clients in the U.S. and abroad is seeking their Tax Manager to join their Midtown, NYC location. He/she will lead and manage multiple international tax engagements to deliver quality tax services for our diverse client base. This individual will be responsible for advising clients on the tax implications of their business objectives, evaluating, and selecting actions to lessen tax burden and cost of compliance, identifying different methods of complying with tax regulations while acting as the primary client contact for complex tax issues. We seek an individual to help grow the Firm's international tax practice.
Essential Duties:
-Build new and existing client relationships and demonstrate basic knowledge of client's businesses.
-Work closely with Tax Partners to satisfy the needs with planning and compliance.
-Understand and manage firm risk on tax services performed.
-Review and prepare international tax returns.
-Prepare research memoranda, written correspondence/guidance, and other documents.
-Train and supervise staff along with reviewing and evaluating their work.
-Manage multiple clients, budgets and production goals.
Qualifications:
-BA/BS degree in Accounting or related field required; MST preferred.
-Active CPA license or EA certification required.
-JD, or CFP or other related experience or certification relevant to an area of specialization preferred.
-6+ years' progressive experience in public accounting firm or related experience.
-Strong knowledge of US tax code and ability to review individual and business federal and state income tax returns.
-Proficient with international tax related forms specifically with 5471, 5472, 8992, 8993, K-2, K-3, 8865, 8858 etc.
-Strong accounting and analytical skills.
-Fluent in English both written and verbal is required. Fluency in another foreign language is a plus.
-Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
-Experience as a team leader: supervising and training teams to create an atmosphere of trust; seeking diverse views to encourage improvement and innovation; and coaching staff including providing timely meaningful written and verbal feedback.
-Should have some understanding with risks associated with technical tax positions and be able to communicate these risks to the partner.
-Ability to travel to client locations may be required.
Location: Midtown, NYC - Hybrid
Compensation: 140k-150k plus potential Bonus and all Benefits

Salary: $ 140,000.00 150,000.00 Per Year
