We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Permanent Tax Manager to join our dynamic Finance team. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned professional with a strong background in tax planning and consulting, real estate tax, tax review, federal and state tax, income tax, and preparation of tax returns. This position will play a pivotal role in managing our organization's tax operations and ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local tax laws.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee and manage all tax planning and compliance activities, including preparation and review of income tax returns, real estate tax, and other business-related filings.
2. Develop and implement strategic tax planning for all necessary federal and state taxes.
3. Conduct tax research and planning to optimize tax liabilities and ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations.
4. Coordinate audits by various taxation authorities.
5. Provide expert counsel on the impact of new laws on tax liabilities and business operations.
6. Develop tax strategies to defer or eliminate tax payments.
7. Create tax data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statutory standpoints.
8. Review financial data for accuracy, correctness, and completeness to ensure the reliability of tax data.
9. Collaborate with internal and external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance.
10. Interact with management and provide advice on tax matters as related to the company's business.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A Master's degree or CPA is highly preferred.
2. Minimum of 5+ years of progressive experience in a tax role, preferably within the finance industry.
3. Extensive understanding and knowledge of federal, state, and local tax codes, regulations, and income tax procedures.
4. Proficiency in tax software and databases, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
5. Strong analytical skills with the ability to read and interpret tax data, financial reports, and legal documents.
6. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax information in a clear and straightforward manner.
7. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
8. High attention to detail and accuracy.
9. Ability to work independently, but also as part of a team.
10. Demonstrated leadership skills and experience managing a team.
