Gpac is partnered with a CPA firm specializing in tax services located in the Denver Tech Center that is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic professional to join their tax team as a Tax Manager. We offer the experience and professional knowledge of national organizations while still providing a desirable work-life balance found at local firms. We offer a small office environment with hands-on client work alongside other team members and partners.
As a Tax Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Providing tax planning, preparation and review of partnerships, C Corporation, S Corporation, individual and trust income tax returns
- Providing year-end accounting adjustments and clean up for business clients
- Managing client accounts and helping to foster client relationships
- Identifying and mitigate tax risks for clients
- Conducting internal training courses on technical tax subjects
Qualifications:
- An undergraduate or graduate degree in accounting
- Active CPA license
- 5+ years’ experience working in public accounting firm experience with individuals, partnerships/LLCs, S Corporations, C Corporations, trusts, and non-profit organizations.
- Strong understanding of income tax laws
- Provide consultation on business and/or personal transactions for clients and their related tax implications, consequences, and treatment
- Continually build on technical expertise in taxation by attending continuing professional education courses or utilizing other training resource
- Keep current with tax law changes and provide updates and training to the firm’s tax practice members
- Developing responses to IRS and other regulatory and tax authority audits, notices, and inquiries
- Act as key engagement person on certain client engagements, coordinate receiving information and making decisions about client updates, and technical issues
- Participate in developing, improving, and maintaining tax department technical resources, business processes and methods
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Working knowledge of CCH Axcess and QuickBooks a plus
Salary: Based on experience. Highly competitive compensation package.
