Position Overview:
As a Tax Manager, you will be a key leader in our tax practice, overseeing and managing various aspects of tax compliance, planning, and consulting services. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in tax, excellent client relationship skills, and a proven ability to lead and develop a high-performing team.
Responsibilities:
Tax Compliance and Planning: Lead and manage the preparation and review of complex individual, corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns. Collaborate with clients to develop and implement effective tax planning strategies.
Client Engagement: Build and maintain strong client relationships by providing exceptional service, addressing inquiries, and offering valuable tax insights. Identify opportunities for additional client services and business development.
Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor tax staff, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented work environment. Provide guidance on technical issues, professional development, and performance evaluations.
Technical Expertise: Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations, ensuring compliance and advising clients on potential impacts. Apply technical knowledge to resolve complex tax issues.
Risk Management: Assess and mitigate potential tax risks associated with client engagements. Implement effective strategies to enhance the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the tax department.
Financial Reporting: Review financial statements and related disclosures for compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. Ensure accurate and timely delivery of financial reports to clients.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
CPA certification is required.
5+ years of experience in tax, with a focus on compliance and planning.
Previous experience in a managerial or supervisory role is preferred.
Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
