Job Details
- Work Remote!
- As a Tax Manager/Strategist, you will be responsible for overseeing the operations of a small team of preparers.
- Roughly 80% review and 20% prep which can lead to a 100% review role
- Own client relationships and ensure department provides exemplary service to clients.
- Provide oversight on efficiencies and functions of each team member.
- Lead the team based on Key Performance Drivers.
- Consult with clients to understand their financial affairs and tax liabilities.
- Resolve clients' tax, strategy, and accounting questions.
- Present tax planning kickoff calls, implementation calls, and quarterly calls, engaging clients throughout the year.
- Record tax entries within clients' accounting systems and identify potential tax errors.
- Review year-end tax returns for small business clients and high net worth individuals for accuracy.
- Prepare and present approved tax returns to clients.
- File tax returns for clients.
- Maintain knowledge of changes in tax law and IRS pronouncements.
- Ensure all clients receive the proper scope of work and service deliveries at the highest level of quality.
- Review submitted tax returns for quality control.
- Provide ongoing training and support to all staff.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest tax legislation changes and industry trends.
- Spend time researching tax strategies applicable to clients.
Needed:
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required
- 6+ years public tax and accounting exp. for individuals and small businesses
- CPA is a must
- Exp. managing junior Tax Preparers
- Proven ability to research complex tax issues and develop quality, practical tax planning
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Be open to a Tax Strategist focus
