Tax Manager
A well-established and expanding public accounting firm is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join their team. In this role, you'll collaborate with a seasoned group of CPAs and accountants in a supportive environment. As a Tax Manager, you'll lead tax engagements, mentor junior staff, and build long-term client relationships.
- Could be fully remote for the right candidate (located within New England)!
- Small firm, 15 employees, with potential Partner track
- Outside of the city
- Minimal turnover
- Busy season is around 50 hours weekly
- Memorial Day to Labor Day 4 day work week!
- Even though they don’t offer a company sponsored health-plan, they will pay up to $1400 monthly toward one.
- They offer continuing education reimbursement.
- Very competitive 401k match (3% dollar for dollar and then 50 cents on the dollar for the next 2%)
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review tax returns for individuals (Form 1040), partnerships (Form 1065), corporations (Forms 1120 and 1120S), and trusts (Form 1041).
- Ensure the timely and accurate filing of all client-related tax returns.
- Provide tax advisory services to a diverse client base, including small businesses, individuals, and trusts/estates.
- Conduct research on complex tax issues and draft detailed memoranda.
- Identify and implement tax planning strategies to benefit clients.
- Mentor staff, helping them develop tax expertise and establish best practices.
- Deliver presentations on technical topics for staff training sessions.
- Address federal and state tax notices on behalf of clients.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
- CPA certification and/or enrolled agent
- 5+ years of tax experience, including individual, partnership, corporate, or trust tax returns.
- Strong technical skills in tax preparation, review, compliance, research, and agency correspondence.
