We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Tax Manager to join our team in the Manufacturing industry. This role will be responsible for managing all aspects of tax accounting and compliance across our organization. The ideal candidate will be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with a strong understanding of tax laws and regulations, ASC740 tax, and proficiency in SAGE Fixed Asset Software. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3+ years of experience in a similar role.
Responsibilities:
1. Lead the preparation and review of federal, state, and local income tax returns and ensure timely submission.
2. Manage the company's tax planning and strategy to maximize efficiency and ensure compliance with all tax laws and regulations.
3. Provide oversight and direction for the preparation of the company's ASC740 tax provision on a quarterly and annual basis.
4. Utilize SAGE Fixed Asset Software for fixed asset management and depreciation calculations.
5. Liaise with external auditors and tax consultants as required, ensuring all required information is available and queries are resolved promptly.
6. Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments, communicate the effects of these developments to management and the tax team, and create strategies to capitalize on changes to taxation legislation.
7. Provide internal tax advisory services and support on business transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, financial structures, and other relevant areas.
8. Manage and facilitate IRS income tax audits: preparing responses, creating schedules, etc.
9. Develop and implement strategic tax planning for all necessary federal and state taxes.
10. Research and correct process errors that caused incorrect tax filing and educate colleagues to avoid repetition of the same errors.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree in Taxation or a related field is preferred.
2. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required.
3. Minimum of 3+ years of experience in tax management or a related role, preferably in the Manufacturing industry.
4. Proficient in ASC740 tax and SAGE Fixed Asset Software.
5. Strong understanding of tax code, compliance, and procedures for corporations.
6. Familiarity with U.S. federal, state, and local reporting requirements.
7. Strong project management and presentation skills.
8. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax information in a clear and concise manner.
9. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make well-judged decisions.
10. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
11. High level of integrity, accuracy, dependability, enthusiasm, and confidentiality.
