We are seeking a dynamic and highly motivated Tax Manager to join our fast-paced Finance team. This role is an exceptional opportunity for a skilled professional to apply their expertise in a challenging and rewarding environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and monitoring tax strategies, ensuring compliance with tax laws, and maintaining tax balances on general ledger.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee all aspects of tax accounting functions, including preparation and review of income tax returns, tax provisions, and related documentation for corporations and partnerships.
- Ensure accurate, timely filing of federal, state, and local tax returns and other business-related filings.
- Develop and implement strategic tax planning for all necessary federal and state taxes.
- Manage members of the tax team as they prepare components of the company's US federal income tax return and state tax returns.
- Manage and facilitate IRS income tax audits: preparing responses, creating schedules, etc.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A Master's degree in Taxation is a plus.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a tax manager or public accountant role and at least 2 years of experience in a management role.
- Strong experience with a variety of tax operations and ability to drive process improvements.
- Strong ability to utilize project management and accounting best practices to organize and prioritize tasks.
- Strong knowledge in using tax software such as CCH and ProSystem.
- Superior analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of tax code, compliance and procedures for corporations.
