Job Details
Responsibilities:
- Tax Compliance: Manage and oversee the preparation and filing of all federal, state, and local tax returns, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations.
- Tax Planning: Develop and implement tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities and optimize the company's tax position. Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations to identify opportunities for tax savings.
- Financial Reporting: Coordinate with the finance team to ensure accurate and timely tax provision calculations for financial reporting purposes, including ASC 740 calculations and disclosures.
- Tax Research: Conduct research on complex tax issues, interpret tax laws and regulations, and provide guidance to internal stakeholders on tax implications related to business transactions, investments, and operations.
- Audit Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for tax audits and inquiries from tax authorities. Prepare and provide documentation to support tax positions and resolve tax controversies in a timely and efficient manner.
- Tax Strategy Development: Collaborate with senior management to develop long-term tax strategies aligned with the company's overall business objectives. -Provide strategic advice on tax implications of proposed business initiatives and acquisitions.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of tax professionals, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high performance and professional development.
- Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain relationships with external tax advisors, auditors, and tax authorities to facilitate effective communication and collaboration.
- Process Improvement: Continuously assess and improve tax processes, procedures, and systems to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
- Special Projects: Lead or support special projects as assigned, such as tax due diligence for mergers and acquisitions, transfer pricing analysis, or implementation of tax technology solutions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field; CPA license required.
- Minimum of [X] years of experience in tax compliance and planning, with a focus on corporate taxation.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
- Experience with tax provision calculations under ASC 740 and financial reporting requirements.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact confidently with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proven leadership ability with experience in managing and developing a team.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines effectively.
- Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) preferred.
