Qualifications:
To be considered for the role of Tax Manager, candidates must possess the following qualifications:
1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree in Taxation or a related field is preferred.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in tax accounting, with a focus on corporate, partnership, and individual tax returns.
3. A thorough understanding of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
4. Strong financial analysis skills, with the ability to interpret and analyze financial data.
5. Excellent tax preparation skills, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
6. Proven experience in tax planning and strategy development.
7. Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage and mentor a team.
8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
9. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and make sound decisions.
10. Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.
11. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required

Responsibilities:
As a Tax Manager, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Manage and mentor members of Tax team to greater levels of effectiveness and engagement
- Review and manage tax engagements
- Assume full responsibility for directing large engagements and special assignments
- Supervise the assignment of duties to, and the training of, staff and senior accountants assigned to engagements
- Maintain effective control procedures over all aspects of the Tax process
- Demonstrate a high level of technical proficiency
- Demonstrate an understanding of business issues relating to complex transactions
- Work and communicate effectively with clients to enhance their understanding of business and tax issues
- Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments, communicate the effects of these developments to the tax team
- Review and correspond with the IRS and Department of Revenue as it relates to audits and notifications.
- Demonstrate an awareness of firm software packages and the ability to use such software effectively and efficiently
