We are currently seeking an experienced and highly skilled Permanent Tax Manager to join our dynamic finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a tax professional with a strong background in tax law, tax accounting, and tax advisory to make a significant impact on our organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all tax-related activities, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal tax laws, and providing strategic tax planning advice to the company. This role requires a high level of accuracy, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all tax operations including tax compliance, tax planning, and tax strategy development.
- Ensure accurate, timely filing of federal, state, and local tax returns and other business-related filings.
- Develop and implement strategic tax planning for all necessary federal and state taxes.
- Manage members of the tax team as they prepare components of the company's US federal income tax return and state tax returns.
- Review tax returns and quarterly/yearly tax projections.
- Manage and facilitate IRS income tax audits: preparing responses, creating schedules, etc.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments, communicate the effects of these developments to management and the tax team.
- Conduct complex tax research and prepare tax memoranda.
- Provide internal tax advisory services and support on business transaction and activities.
- Collaborate with external tax consultants as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Advanced degree in Taxation or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred.
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in tax management with proficiency in tax compliance, tax planning, and strategy.
- Strong knowledge of tax code, compliance and procedures for corporations.
- Familiarity with U.S. federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
- Exceptional client service along with the ability to develop excellent client relationships.
- Strong leadership and personnel management skills.
- Analytical skills with detail orientation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to function well in a team-oriented environment.
- Proficient in tax software and technology.
- Strong project management and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
