The Tax Director will lead the tax department, overseeing all aspects of tax compliance and planning. Position Overview

The Tax Director will be responsible for tax strategy development, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and representing the firm in dealings with taxing authorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee tax compliance and planning activities for clients.
- Review and approve tax returns and examinations.
- Provide subject matter expertise in tax issues and developments.
- Enhance client service through effective communication and client meetings.
- Supervise and mentor tax preparers and specialists within the firm.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide development training for tax staff.
- Engage in recruiting efforts to build a strong tax team.
- Manage billing and collection processes related to tax services.
- Develop and maintain referral sources and community involvement initiatives.
- Lead practice development efforts to grow the tax practice.
- Ensure adherence to the firm philosophy and commitment to professional development.
- Master's Degree in Accounting or related field.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credential.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in public accounting with a focus on tax.
- In-depth knowledge of tax legislation and complex tax issues.
- Strong technical and business skills with proficiency in tax research.
- Proven experience in coaching and training tax staff.
- Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships and provide client responsibility.
- Experience in governmental tax examinations and representation before taxing authorities.
- Active member of the American Institute of CPAs and commitment to continuing education.
