We are on the hunt for a dynamic and experienced Permanent Tax Director with an extensive background in Private Equity to join our thriving Accounting and Finance team. This role is pivotal in shaping and executing our tax strategy and ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations. As a Permanent Tax Director, you will be responsible for managing all tax-related matters, including planning, compliance, and audit defense. This is an incredible opportunity for a seasoned professional to make a significant impact in a fast-paced, growing organization.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee and manage all tax planning, compliance, and audit defense activities to ensure the organization's adherence to tax laws and regulations.
2. Develop and implement effective tax strategies to minimize the company's tax liabilities while ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations.
3. Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate financial reporting and decision making.
4. Provide expert tax advice to the senior management team on tax implications of business decisions and potential risks.
5. Review and analyze complex financial data to identify potential tax issues and develop effective solutions.
6. Build and maintain relationships with external tax advisors and auditors.
7. Lead and manage the tax team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous learning.
8. Keep up-to-date with changes in tax laws and regulations and ensure the organization is well-informed of any potential impacts.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. An advanced degree in Taxation or a CPA designation is highly preferred.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a tax leadership role at a CPA firm working with Private Equity clients
3. Extensive knowledge of tax laws, regulations, and best practices including 704b, 704c and waterfall allocations.
4. Proven experience in tax planning, compliance, and audit defense.
5. Strong leadership skills with a track record of building and leading high-performing teams.
6. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex financial data and develop effective tax strategies.
7. Exceptional communication skills with the ability to articulate complex tax issues clearly and concisely.
8. Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving potential tax issues.
9. Proficient in tax software and other relevant financial systems.
