We are currently seeking a dynamic and motivated Permanent Tax Associate to join our esteemed legal firm. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment and handle challenging tax-related issues. The successful candidate will have a strong accounting background and be responsible for managing various aspects of our company's financial operations, including accounts receivable, reconciliation, sales tax, invoicing, and accounts payable. This position requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Tax Associate, you will be tasked with the following:
1. Prepare and review complex tax returns and provide practical, high-quality tax solutions to clients.
2. Manage all aspects of accounts receivable and accounts payable, including processing payments, producing statement of accounts, and maintaining billing system.
3. Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual closings and ensure timely and accurate reporting.
4. Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
5. Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including sales tax, invoicing, and other financial transactions.
6. Assist with internal and external auditing procedures.
7. Liaise with tax authorities and provide tax audit support for the company.
8. Stay updated with industry trends and current tax practices to ensure company's compliance.
9. Develop tax strategies to assist clients in being tax-compliant and to help them save money.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or CPA certification would be a plus.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in public tax
3. Proficient in A/R, reconciliation, sales tax, invoicing, and AP.
4. Strong knowledge of tax laws, tax compliance, and planning.
5. Excellent analytical skills with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
6. Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
8. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software.
9. Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity.
