Our client is a prominent, multifaceted private real estate firm. The company manages a comprehensive portfolio comprising industrial, logistics, and life sciences properties, residential units, and hotel assets.
Position Summary:
We are actively seeking a skilled Senior Tax Associate to become a key member of our client's Corporate Finance team. This critical role is responsible for overseeing tax compliance, strategic tax planning, and related functions.
Core Duties:
- Manage tax compliance, including extensions, estimates, and returns.
- Compute tax gains on asset sales and oversee Section 1031 exchanges.
- Track tax projections for REIT dividend coverage.
- Respond to tax notices from various jurisdictions.
- Oversee and facilitate audits of income tax and sales & use tax.
- Determine taxable income for joint venture partners on a periodic basis.
Required Qualifications:
- 3-10 years of tax experience gained at a large or regional CPA firm or within a real estate organization.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Real Estate Finance/Tax.
- CPA and/or Master's in Tax is advantageous but not obligatory.
- Deep understanding of tax compliance, strategic tax planning, and tax-related activities.
- Prior experience with REIT and real estate companies is strongly desired.

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to:
- the individual’s skill sets, experience and training;
- licensure and certification requirements;
- office location and other geographic considerations;

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
