Our client is a leading financial services firm located in Boston, that prides itself on having a great company culture, with a great work-life balance for their Tax team. We are on the hunt for a seasoned Tax Advisor to join our client’s forward-thinking team.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$130k – $180k Annually based on experience
Position Overview:
A qualified Tax Advisor will be involved in crafting extensive tax return strategies for high-net-worth individual clients, as well as involvement with various tax planning and analytic initiatives. The role of a Tax Advisor requires instilling absolute trust, processing classified information with the utmost confidentiality, and maintaining a high level of client communication. This role is hybrid, with three days a week in the office in Downtown Boston.
Responsibilities of the Tax Advisor:
- Conduct detailed tax return preparations tailored to individual clients with exceptional net worth.
- Engage with clients and Trustees regularly, presenting effective financial and tax planning strategies.
- Evaluate colleagues’ processed tax returns, ensuring the highest standard of quality.
- Collaborate with team members to detect taxable occurrences that might have legal consequences.
- Cooperate with Trustees and the Tax Department team to pinpoint tax planning opportunities for individuals and families.
- Work in alignment with the Tax Department team to develop, implement, and monitor department-wide projects.
- Interface across various teams, including General Counsel and Trust Administration, to safeguard comprehensive and compliant tax planning initiatives.
- Collaborate with the Tax team, Business Analysts, and Application Developers to integrate the most effective technologies and work processes.
Qualifications for the Tax Advisor:
- A minimum of 7 years of experience operating in an individual tax return production environment.
- At least 5 years of experience in a direct client environment, dealing with financial planning and analysis.
- CPA Firm experience is preferred.
- Extensive, up-to-date knowledge of individual and gift tax matters.
- Prior experience with trusts, fiduciary, and estate tax returns is highly favored.
- A solid understanding of Investment Management principles is essential.
- Outstanding analytical, communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to grasp new concepts in a complex, fast-paced environment.

Education Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Accounting, Taxation, or Certified Financial Planning is a must.
- CPA is preferred.
