The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in tax preparation, planning, and compliance for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities- Tax Preparation & Compliance: Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, trusts, and estates. Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations.
- Tax Planning: Provide proactive tax planning strategies to clients to minimize tax liabilities and optimize financial outcomes. Advise on tax implications of various financial decisions.
- Client Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients, managing relationships, responding to inquiries, and providing high-quality service. Work closely with clients to understand their needs and provide customized tax solutions.
- Research & Analysis: Conduct tax research to stay updated on the latest tax regulations and changes. Analyze complex tax issues and provide recommendations to clients and team members.
- Mentorship & Training: Assist in mentoring and training junior staff accountants, providing guidance on technical tax issues and best practices.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments within the firm, including audit and advisory services, to provide comprehensive client support.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for improving tax processes and efficiencies within the department. Participate in the implementation of new tax software and tools.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA designation is required.
- Minimum of 3+ Recent Years of experience in public accounting, with a focus on tax services.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
- Experience with tax software and financial accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, etc.).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex tax issues to clients.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
