Summary/Objective:
The Tank cleaning technician will perform hydro blasting and chemical cleaning & Hydro excavation work. The Tank Cleaning Technicians will execute any needed fieldwork encompassing environmental services, industrial cleaning and vacuuming, tank cleaning, waste packaging and disposal, site demolition, emergency spill response, and site cleanup projects while under direct or indirect supervision
Responsibilities:
- Performs labor and helper functions as directed for all services provided by the division. These services include, but are not limited to, hydro blasting, catalyst handling, chemical cleaning, vacuum, and sewer truck operating, tank cleaning, dewatering, and other work assignments.
- Performs work with a positive attitude and in a professional, safe manner.
- Clean and recondition bulk tanks, which includes repair, and painting.
- Build and repair pumps and meters. Cleans up work area and equipment after work is completed.
- Adhere to OSHA and company policy and procedures consistently.
- Performs quality checks to ensure tank and equipment are in good operating condition prior to delivery.
- Ensures timeliness of tank orders is met. Promotes safety through own actions and work habits. Reports all accidents and near misses, involving self, company vehicles, or other job personnel to supervisor immediately.
- Assist in the inspection of equipment, hoses, connections, pumps, and general work area prior to starting any job. Informs supervisor of deficiencies, which may cause accidents, injuries, or lost productivity.
- Work productively without constant supervision.
- Work with a team to organize and effectively run the Tank Department.
- Ability to be on call and respond to spill clean-up service calls.
- Other tasks and projects as assigned by the manager.
Qualifications:
- High School or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Respond to emergency/spill clean-up service calls 24/7 if called upon.
- Successfully pass a background check in accordance with plant/refinery standards
- Must have a TWIC card/or the ability to acquire one.
- Must pass hair follicle and urine drug screen.
- Must be motivated, able to communicate effectively with co-workers and management, and work well in a team environment.
- Ability to promote teamwork, be a self-starter, and work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work a flexible work schedule. Come in early, stay late or work on weekends when needed.
- Prior experience working on pumps and pressure testing tanks preferred.
- Must have at least 1 year of prior warehouse general labor experience.
- Prior experience operating forklifts.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 80 pounds.
- Ability to work at high elevations.
- Ability to work in extreme temperature and weather conditions.
