POSITION PURPOSE
The Talent Development Manager is a key member of the HR Team who is responsible for managing the design, development, and delivery of talent development programs and initiatives that support the organization's strategic goals and objectives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Employee shall perform all duties and responsibilities with Sunland's Core Values at the forefront.
- Must be an advocate of safety and follow safety policies and procedures.
- Design, develop and deliver scalable and sustainable talent and organizational development programs including: leadership development, new supervisor, employee engagement, performance management, and other topics as needed.
- Conduct needs assessment with leaders as appropriate to ensure alignment of programs to the company's goals.
- Manage and ensure maintenance of LMS, including content to meet established criteria and ensuring all published content is accurate and current.
- Create and rollout learning resources, including online courses, facilitator and participant guides, PowerPoint presentations and job aids.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, subject matter experts, and external vendors to identify learning needs, define objectives, and create engaging and effective learning solutions.
- Evaluate the effectiveness and impact of talent development programs and initiatives using various methods and metrics, such as feedback surveys, assessments, and analytics.
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and feedback to employees and managers on talent development topics, such as performance management, career development, and succession planning.
- Lead and manage complex and cross-functional talent development projects, such as leadership development, diversity and inclusion, and organizational change.
- Communicate and promote talent development programs and initiatives to various audiences, such as senior leaders, managers, employees, and external partners.
- Stay updated on the latest trends and best practices in talent development and adult learning theory, and apply them to enhance the quality and innovation of talent development programs and initiatives.

Safety
- This position is considered a safety-sensitive position and is subject to the company's drug and alcohol policy, as well as all OHSA regulations.
- All employees must wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Serves as a safety ambassador by complying with federal, state, and local laws, as well as Company safety policy, enforces safe work practices, and proactively identifies and remedies worksite hazards.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- This position operates in a professional office environment that routinely uses standard office equipment requiring the ability to communicate in person and over the telephone with other employees, the ability to interpret printed materials and a computer screen, the stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions, the ability to lift and carry supplies and files weighing up to 10 pounds and to move about the inside of the office to access supplies, office machinery, etc.
- May be required to work outside and/or on a project site and if so, would be exposed to all weather, including extreme hot and cold temperatures.
- Employee might be exposed to various chemicals, vapors, pollutants, virus or other air-borne pathogens, gases, uneven surfaces, loud noises, moving vehicles or machines and dust/debris.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
- This is a full-time position. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel
- Minimal travel required with advanced notice.
- Overnight stays away from home, when necessary, approximately 25%.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Work Experience
- A bachelor's or master's degree in human resources, organizational development, adult education, or a related field preferred
- A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in talent development, curriculum design, e-learning, or instructional design.
- A certification in talent development, project management, or a related field, such as PMP, or SHRM preferred.
- Strong knowledge of adult learning principles, learning theories, and instructional design models.
- Proficient in using various learning technologies and tools, such as LMS, authoring software, video editing software, etc.
- Excellent communication, presentation, facilitation, and coaching skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Ability to design and develop creative and resourceful programs and procedures.
- Ability to collaborate with stakeholders, subject matter experts, vendors, and learners.
- Process improvement oriented and the ability to make recommendations and decisions.
- Flexible and proactive problem solver adept at achieving results in a team-oriented and collaborative environment, but also able to function effectively working independently.
- Demonstrated success in a dynamic, frequently changing, and fast paced environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong internal and external customer focus.
- Team player (both as a leader and a member).
- Experience developing & delivering presentations including executive summaries to various audiences including senior management team and/or business leaders.
- Strong communication skills. Ability to read, analyze, and write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of executives, managers, employees, and various plan participants.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES & REGISTRATIONS
- Must have a valid driver's license and clean motor-vehicle record.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and background check.
