Position Summary
The Talent Development Manager of a $1B company’s 1.8M Sq Ft automated distribution center reports directly to the Human Resources Director and oversees the development, implementation and management of all the training programs for all team members within the distribution center.
This role supports operational success by aligning training initiatives with company objectives, emphasizing safety, operational excellence, and adherence to company policies. The manager collaborates with department leaders to assess needs, deliver effective training, and drive continuous improvement while leveraging innovative solutions and best practices to optimize the overall performance of our distribution center.
This position also serves as a crucial liaison between the operations teams and upper management to communicate and align cross functional teams, enabling informed decision-making and strategic planning to drive company objectives in a rapidly evolving industry. This dynamic role fosters a culture of excellence and accountability within the team, while coaching and guiding them with the necessary tools and resources for success within a fast-paced diverse team environment that prioritizes collaboration, trust, and teamwork to drive employee and customer satisfaction.

Functional Responsibilities
1. Training Program Development
· Designs, develops, and implements comprehensive training programs for new hires, as well as ongoing training for current employees. This includes creating training materials, manuals, and presentations.
· Conducts regular needs assessments to identify training needs within the Distribution Center. Collaborates with department managers to understand specific training requirements and customize training programs accordingly.
2. Training Delivery
· Facilitates training sessions, workshops, and seminars for employees at all levels. Ensures that training methods are engaging and effective, using a variety of instructional techniques.
3. Compliance and Safety Training
· Ensures all employees receive required safety and compliance training. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of safety regulations and standards to integrate them into training programs.
· Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of training programs through feedback, assessments, and performance metrics. Makes necessary adjustments to improve training quality and outcomes.
4. Record Keeping
· Maintains accurate and detailed records of all training activities, employee participation, and certification statuses. Ensures all training records are compliant with company policies and legal requirements.
· Promotes continuous improvement by staying current with industry trends and best practices in training and development. Proposes and implements improvements to training programs based on feedback and new developments.
5. Leadership and Development
· Mentors and coaches team leads and supervisors to enhance their training and leadership skills. Promotes a culture of continuous learning and development within the Distribution Center in Beaumont, Ca and Edison, NJ.
Education/Qualifications
· REQUIRED
o Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred.
o Proficiency in Warehouse Management System (WMS) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software.
o Demonstrated strong customer service, communications and interpersonal skills with ability to collaboratively address complex workplace challenges.
o Ability to perform physical activity at a sustained pace including walking, bending, and lifting within an automated distribution center environment.
· PREFERRED
o Certification in Training and Development, such as a Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP), is a plus.
o Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design is highly desirable.
Experience
· REQUIRED
o Minimum of 5 years of experience in a training and development role, preferably within a Distribution Center, warehouse, or logistics environment.
o Demonstrated ability to develop training programs that align with operational goals, improve productivity, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
o Proven experience delivering effective training sessions to diverse employee groups, including new hires, front-line workers, supervisors, and management teams.
o Experience working closely with department leaders to identify specific training needs and develop customized solutions that address challenges and promote continuous improvement.
o Success in using data and feedback to evaluate the effectiveness of training initiatives and drive measurable outcomes.
o Familiarity with training programs in automated distribution centers or highly regulated environments where safety and operational precision are critical.
o Experience utilizing learning management systems (LMS) and integrating technology into training programs for efficiency and engagement.
o Proven ability to support organizational change through training initiatives that foster adaptability and resilience in employees.

· WORK ENVIRONMENT
o This position is based in a Distribution Center environment, which may involve working in varying temperatures and conditions.
o The role requires flexibility in working hours to support multiple shifts for training needs.
o This position will require working in various settings, including the set-up, navigation, and operation within environments where material handling, light, and heavy industrial activities are performed.
o Personal Protective Equipment (ex. High-Visibility Vest, Eyewear, Gloves, etc.) may be required and provided by ULAC when working in certain environments within the Distribution Center.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $105,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
