Job Summary
The Talent Acquisition and Learning Specialist serves as a professional support partner to the Talent Acquisition team, helping to move the recruiting process forward efficiently and provide assistance to hiring managers. This role also provides direct support the Learning team by managing the learning management system (LMS), assessment systems (DiSC etc.) and the eLearning library day to day. Additional responsibilities include measuring and reporting talent metrics, training users in the relevant systems and providing administrative support for the activities of the performance management annual process.
What will you do
Talent Acquisition
- Move the recruiting process forward quickly and efficiently and provide assistance to hiring managers.
- Conduct pre-employment screening, schedule interviews, and conduct background checks and all follow up processes and documentation.
- Administer the offer and pre-employment processes for selected candidates.
- Manage the Talent Acquisition process in the system including data entry and system administration.
- Manage and update Talent Acquisition systems including; applicant tracking system, calendaring system etc.
- Collaborate with the team and the TA Leadership on continuous improvement and value-added processes and projects
- Provide regular reporting of recruiting metrics to support Talent Acquisition goals.
Learning and Development
- Manage the learning management system (LMS) day to day, including data entry, system administration and support for users.
- Administer training records, overseeing all entries for accuracy and current record keeping.
- Manage the eLearning library of learning assets, including accessing eLearning online resources, setting up new courses and maintaining the library catalog system.
- Manages assessment tools and systems, e.g. input employee information, administer assessments, distribute reports, maintain system records.
- Manage requests involving the LMS or eLearning and provides support to all employees for accessing learning services in the LMS or eLearning library.
- Train key users from other departments as learning administrators in the LMS
- Prepare and updates user reference guides for self-service access to the LMS or eLearning library
- Prepare reports of learning metrics to support Sustainability and Talent Acquisition goals
Performance Management
- Provide support for the Performance and Development system and user support during the active periods of the performance management cycle
- Prepare or update reference guides and training materials for using the performance system and maintain the SharePoint site of resource materials
What do we look for
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field
- 1-3 years’ HR work experience in a corporate environment
- Prior experience with LMS and Talent Acquisition systems
- Good understanding of HR functions and best practices
- Exposure to labor law, employment equity regulations and payroll practices
- Customer-focused with ability to interact effectively with all levels, internal and external
- Works well under pressure, able to work quickly, multi-task and meet tight deadlines
- Highly computer literate with capability in email, MS Office applications
- Ambassador for Quaker Houghton as first point of contact for recruiting and learningrience with LMS and Talent Acquisition systems
