Position Summary:
The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Department of Neurosurgery and the HHT Center of Excellence, is seeking a Program Coordinator I position to provide administrative support and assist in managing the life cycle of a new clinical trial study from start up through trial maintenance to study closure.
Under general supervision, coordinates administrative, personnel and logistical support for a defined department program. Carries out established program objectives and directives. Determines the best approach to accomplish assignments. May supervise support staff. Communicates, using a variety of media, with internal and external constituencies. May be responsible for adherence to program budget and/or other fiscal duties. May assist with grant and contract preparation and submission. May handle data management.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- To provide administrative support and assist in managing the life cycle of a new clinical trial study from start up through trial maintenance to study closure.
- To serve as coordinator for studies and provide support to other team members within the confines of the protocol as directed.
- To support screening and participant eligibility determination, working with more senior team members to ensure compliance.
- To assist with the study life cycle from start-up to closure, i.e., collecting and recording data, recruiting and performing follow-up with participants, scheduling visits and assisting in coordination of lab and fieldwork.
- Collects and records preliminary data for clinical research programs.
- Schedules visits according to research protocols.
- Assists in the coordination of lab and fieldwork.
- Prepares for study monitoring visits.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Salary Range: %2415.00 - %2419.00
High School diploma or GED and three (3) years of related experience required.

- An individual who is self-motivated, extremely effective in time management and a self-starter.
