PROGRAM COORDINATOR II
This position offers the ability to learn a number of highly interesting and transferable skills, such as outreach to the community/marketing, government and congressional outreach, managing meeting arrangements and communication with Board of Directors, research award data management, management of graduate student funding program, some website modification and maintenance, some modest budget support (production of a one-page budget report every year, calculations of award funding, research expenditures, and institutional dues) and some writing support (including production and editing of at least one major report per year, quarterly minutes from Board of Director meetings and annual graduate student support funding announcement among others.The ideal candidate will have experience with document production/editing, creating promotional brochures (for Congress visits), website maintenance, and modification abilities.Lastly, the ideal candidate must have the ability to get along with people, including faculty, university leaders (e.g., vice presidents for research), and government leaders such as state government employees and US Congressional members and their staffers.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Under minimal supervision, coordinates administrative, personnel, and logistical support for a defined department program (s), often of a large and/or complex nature
- Carries out established program objectives and directives
- Follows established guidelines or protocols
- Determines the best approach to accomplish assignments
- May participate in program planning and in setting program objectives
- May supervise support staff
- May act as a communication liaison and special events planner
- Interfaces with outside resources such as volunteers, alumni, patients, other professionals in a defined field or with continuing education students
- May be responsible for adherence to program budget and/or other fiscal duties
- May assist with grant and contract preparation and submission
- May handle data management
- Perform other duties as assigned
Hourly Wage: %2418.35-%2429.80 (commensurate with experience)
Bachelor's degree in a related field and one (1) year of related experience required. OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong writing skills
- B.S. or B.A. (English, Marketing, Communication or related field)
- Experience with web design
