The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), O'Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center is seeking a Clinical Research Administrator I. The ideal candidate must be able to effectively interface professionally between Principal Investigators, Study Coordinators, Regulatory Managers, Financial Associates, Grants and Contracts Officers, Clinical Billing Review Officers, Ancillary Departments, and Sponsor regarding clinical trial activities relating to budgets and contracts to assure Cancer Center investigators needs are achieved and goals accomplished.
The O'Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center is one of 51 NCI-designated comprehensive cancer centers in the United States and is the only one in Alabama and in the Deep South region. A comprehensive designation also means UAB Medicine patients have access to leading-edge treatments or clinical trials that they may not otherwise have at local community hospitals or smaller cancer centers. General Responsibilities
- To manage intake, triage, assessment and distribution of study materials.
- To collect and process information related to studies.
- To maintain records and documentation.
- To maintain study's compliance with institutional requirements.
- To work with sponsors/study team to arrange required trainings and meetings.
- To maintain familiarity with appropriate Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines and regulations.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for performing pre-award activities for industry and investigator-initiated studies.
- Manages fiscal aspects of contract negotiations identifying all of the expenses associated with participating in a clinical trial and budget negotiation and budget development.
- Will collaborate to develop clinical trials processes for consistency and compliance with UAB, Federal State and applicable regulatory authorities.
- Serves as a liaison to the UAB Office of Sponsored Programs in negotiating contracts and amendments related to the conduct of clinical research activities.
- Assists in preparing, developing, reviewing, and negotiating industry and sponsored research clinical trial budgets for consistency with UAB policies and operating procedures.
- Identify and obtain funding sufficient to successfully execute clinical research, as applicable.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Hourly Range:%2418.85 - %2430.65
High School diploma or GED required.
Preferences
- Knowledge of clinical trials is preferred.
- Healthcare or finance experience is a plus.
