Responsibilities
As a RL Controls Network Engineer, you will have an integral position within our engineering team. This will involve assisting in a variety of essential job functions that include the design, implementation, Integration, troubleshooting, and supporting network/system infrastructure and services with expertise/experience at layers 1-7.
Qualifications
- Experience in System design, Integration, implementation, and commissioning is required.
- The candidate will possess "Skilled hands" and experience integrating/working with Soldering Irons, O-Scopes, DVM's and wide range of peripheral equipment interfaces.
- Experience with VMS, PoE, LPR, AC/DC, CBTC desirable
- Experience in engineering, implementation, and support of large diverse systems.
- Experience with industry standard EACS/CCTV/Data security practices.
- Experience with large Systems site surveys and design.
- Experience with system documentation of architecture/project drawings from start to as-built.
- Experience with product selection, design, implementation and support for large complex systems.
- Experience with performance tests (fiber/copper) specifically ODTR, Power/loss, Fusion splicing, packet analyzers...etc
- Experience in the transportation industry is a big plus.
- Experience with RF system design not necessary but a plus.
- Experience with wired and/or wireless equipment performing configuration, diagnostics, and heat-mapping (i.e. APs, Routers, Switches, Firewalls, etc.)
- One or more certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, Genetec, Extreme Networks, CompTIA is not necessary but is a plus.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends to meet customer critical infrastructure maintenance hours.
- Potential to Travel 15-30% to customer sites
