Project Description
The Mustang Blackbird team requires additional support involving specific electrical systems tasks (see expected deliverables).
- Vehicle Electrical Systems On-Site Support for XM / Mule Prototype Launch, Including Systems Integration, Functional Testing, Initial Key-Off-Load Testing and Root Cause Analysis of Issues.
Functional Requirements
Minimum Qualification for Engineering Staff:
- BS Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
- 5+ years experience in automotive electrical systems
- 5+ years of disciplined, team-based problem solving (6 Sigma preferred)
- Understanding of GPDS deliverables and basic Ford Engineering tools (FEDE BOM / WERS / GPDS / Bill of Material / FMA / AIMS / 8Ds / FEDE DVP / Engineering Sign Off / DFMEA / Six Sigma)
- Experience launching new vehicles and working with a Cross-functional Team
- Experience with Vector CAN tools, (DET) Diagnostic Engineering Tool, Multimeter, Module Software flashing, CAN network troubleshooting, Bus Queries, Radmoon, CAN log and data collection, MyCanic, Vehicle configuration (VSCS)
Deliverables
- Support the Software Engineer team to initiate the ECU Software Development Plan and Publish the CAN Message List
- P-Diagrams, Quality History System Integration and Electrical / Electronic System DFMEA cascaded to subsystem and components and all documents are stored in FEDE and any potential critical and critical characteristics are cascaded, where required
- Campaign prevent detailed in common schematics and captured in program schematics and Systems High Hurt Checklist
- All Device Transmittals Evaluated, Signed-off, Completed and Released in VSEM
- The Generic Power Distribution and Grounding Strategy Assessment is complete and reviewed with System TS
- System and Subsystem Compatibility Reviews of all DCV Device Transmittals
- DCV System and Subsystem Compatibility Review checklist complete for all logical level requirements
- Issue DCRs and mark-up schematics in DCR Database for program to support grounding and power distribution content changes, as required
- Develop the Logical Schematics with mark-ups to support the Final Schematic development and ensure they are signed-off by System TS
- Lead efforts to ensure the DCV Logical Schematics are complete and signed-off by System Technical Specialist
- Work with the EDS team to get an initial DCV Physical Schematics
- Complete System Requirement Target setting, Design Verification requests initiated and cascaded in FEDE
- Complete System DV request and Breadboard requests with quantity and configurations of the Breadboards submitted to VEV Team
- All Requirement Deviations agreed and signed-off and entered into FEDE
- Support the development and Assessment summary for the Power Supply Charge Margin, Battery throughput and Key-Off-Load Attribute Plans with no major issues identified
- Support the Netcom team in developing the Provisional Message List to complete the DCV Message List and any iteration updates of the Network Topology with the Netcom and Architecture team
- Support the development of the Electro Magnetic Compatibility test plan to completion of the EMC Testing
- Conduct required milestone Technical Design Review with the System Technical Specialist in preparation for the Program Engineering Cut-off for design
- Support On Site XM / Mule Launch Build and root cause build issues
