Job Description:
Responsibilities
- Provides expertise and develops monitoring solutions for Networking, Internet Services, video, server, storage, application and other critical business services.
- Creates and customizes complex dashboard views surrounding business requirements. Able to create new data sources to feed external data to the dashboard and apply custom business rules, entities for status calculation and propagation.
- Integrate monitoring alarms with a ticketing workflow and contribute to self-healing automation.
- Develop and deploy role based reporting dashboards for executives, account support, and operations personnel.
- Integrate availability and performance data back into the reporting platform for real time viewing by customers.
- Provide after-hours support of monitoring tools on a team rotation.Occasional travel may be required.
- Intermediate level of IT experience, including Service Management and Monitoring
- Solid understanding of Enterprise systems and application performance monitoring concepts, principles, and best practices.
- Solid understanding of network routing, switching, TCP/IP addressing design and troubleshooting.Willing and able to clearly document the monitoring environment.
- Particular experience working the software engineering teams in an enterprise environment is a must. Ability to operate with a flexible schedule as after-hours work will be required periodically.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven applied expertise with implementation, integration, and support of EMC Smarts, Splunk, Ineoquest, AppDynamics
- Strong with SNMP based monitoring tools.
- Experience with event de-duplication/correlation and integration with service desk tools is desired. Well versed in open-source technologies and environments.
- The ability to work as a systems administrator on the command line of Windows/HPUX/Linux servers is a strong plus. Experience with scripting languages
