Systems Engineer – Data Center Operations
We’re seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to join our team and play a key role in managing and enhancing data center operations. This position requires expertise in VMware, Azure, and Terraform to implement, maintain, monitor, and protect critical infrastructure. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, self-driven, and capable of working with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, configure, and maintain VMware vSphere Private Cloud environments, including ESX, NSX, and vCenter across multiple data centers.
- Manage and monitor disaster recovery environments, including VROPS, VRM, and SRM.
- Support scalable, secure, and high-performing Azure cloud infrastructure, ensuring compliance with organizational standards.
- Monitor and maintain infrastructure performance and availability proactively.
- Develop, test, and manage automation processes using Terraform for end-to-end infrastructure automation.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for environments, ensuring accuracy and usability for team members.
- Plan and design VMware environment sizing and architecture.
- Collaborate with teams to engineer hybrid, cloud-native, and on-premises solutions.
- Provide final-tier on-call support for critical infrastructure issues.
- Configure, rack, cable, and maintain all data center hardware.
- Support Windows server configuration and maintenance.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned to ensure operational efficiency.
Required Skills and Experience
- At least 5 years of experience managing VMware environments, Azure cloud infrastructure, and Terraform in hybrid and on-premises setups.
- Expert knowledge of VMware technologies (vCenter, ESX, NSX, SRM, VRM, VROPS), Azure, and Terraform.
- Strong background in supporting Azure Cloud and Microsoft Windows Server OS.
- Understanding of networking infrastructure (LAN, WAN, VPN) and protocols (TCP/IP, FCoE).
- Experience with enterprise-class storage, hardware protocols, and fabrics.
- Familiarity with formal patch management, change control systems, and ITIL frameworks.
- Ability to think creatively to design and improve infrastructure architectures.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and handle tasks under pressure.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or a related field is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- VMware VCP-NV certification.
- Azure AZ-104 certification.
- Experience with Linux operating systems.

The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
