The Prince George's County Office of Information Technology is seeking qualified applicants to fill a Systems Engineerposition, grade G27 in the Platform/Server Administration Division.

About the Position
This is advanced professional and technical engineering work involving researching, planning, designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise-wide and business IT environments including on-premise servers and enterprise back-office, messaging platform(s), cloud tenants and SaaS/IaaS platforms, middleware electronics storage and back-up systems in a variety of environments. Incumbent leads and coordinates the implementation of new systems or systems enhancements collaborating with applications developers and solution providers; supports projects that include integration of systems; provides level 3 IT service desk support; and performs related work as required.  

Work is performed under the supervision of a higher-level technology engineer and manager, and evaluated in terms of technical adequacy, accuracy, overall operability, and effectiveness; adherence to established timeframes and compliance with cyber-security requirements.

About the Agency
The Office of Information Technology (OIT) provides support for all of the agencies, departments, and branches of County government. The OIT Service Desk provides information technology support and maintenance services to Prince George’s County personnel. The Office of Information Technology is wholly dedicated to aligning technology efforts to support the strategic goals of the County. OIT will provide leadership, expertise, and resources in the ideation, development, and deployment of innovative technologies and streamlined processes to improve government efficiency, business interaction, and citizen access to government information and services.
