Responsibilities:
- The Systems Engineer II will primarily be responsible for managing faculty activity and reporting through digital systems. The Systems Engineer II - Interfolio will serve as a data steward for the electronic faculty activity reporting system including, but not limited to, importing data from other campus information systems, modifying the configuration of the database in response to changing campus needs, creating report templates, generating data reports, and conducting technical troubleshooting. The Systems Engineer II - Interfolio will work closely with key stakeholders to determine system effectiveness and demands and should be familiar with information confidentiality standards. The Systems Engineer II - Interfolio will possess significant understanding of faculty organization and administrative leadership and be a campus expert on faculty activity reporting.
- One of the primary tasks for the individual in this role will be working the ticketing queue. This will take up a significant portion of their day, experience with SNOW is preferred but not required.
Requirements
- Candidates with the required SQL skills in addition to the preferred IAM and Saviynt experience will be given first preference
- Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
- Experience with database management systems
- Understanding of systems configuration, integration, and data transfer
- Expertise in navigating management information systems and querying databases for data retrieval
- Knowledge of programming or scripting languages
- Expertise in electronic survey software programs
- Comprehension of quantitative, qualitative, and mixed research methods
- Knowledge of survey design and data collection
- Ability to develop innovative new programs and services, evaluate their effectiveness, and implement changes as needed to make improvements
- Strong Communication Skills
- Team culture: This is a very interative team, so this individual needs to be someone who is comfortable with collaborating. Example would be something sharing their screen when working on code and being confident enough to explain their thought process to the group. Also important to mention that since they are working in higher education, this can be different from corporate structures and processes.
- Experience with Interfolio
- Knowledge of emerging information technologies and information management tools
- Understanding of information security and privacy
- Proficiency in office productivity software programs
- Knowledge of institutional policies and procedures
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting
- Ability to automate and streamline processes and achieve operational efficiencies
- Ability to multi-task and work with self-direction under minimal supervision
- Proficiency in problem-solving, creative and analytical thinking, and strategic decision-making

- SQL skills. This is a level 2 position so it is considered to be junior, so while candidates don't need to be a SQL expert, they do still need to have at least baseline experience. This includes teh ability to write their own queries and being comfortable with doing SQL research.
- Experience with Identity Access Management (IAM)
- Experience working with Saviynt (this is the ID Governance tool that will be used)
