You will provide exceptional leadership for a team of highly talented engineers that build and operate AWS AI/ML services that enable customers to expand their GenAI workloads.
Our engineering teams support services running in air gapped regions that are often isolated from the public internet creating unique engineering challenges and opportunities for innovation. The AI/ML ADC team is responsible for diving deep to resolve operational challenges, innovating to automate operational tasks, supporting execution of various security campaigns (blocked software, host patching), and parity programs.
As a leader you will:
- Hire, motivate, mentor and develop a team of engineers, promoting growth and opportunity
- Define the structure and strategy for the team determining the right mix of engineers and where they need to be allocated to meet the business goals.
- Establish a roadmap and successfully deliver engineering solutions that execute that vision. Your roadmap influences the organizational goals and you are involved in the yearly planning process.
- Provide your team with the necessary support to take responsibility for team systems end-to-end (design, code quality, system health).
- Develop senior engineers promoting growth and opportunities to demonstrate higher level role scope, impact, complexity, and leadership.
- Work cross functionally to foster a constructive dialogue, harmonize discordant views, and lead the resolution of contentious issues.
- Be an operational leader: Take a data driven approach consistently utilizing metrics to measure performance gaps and increase productivity by improving processes at the local level while driving improvements on the global scale.

- 5+ years of Software Development or Systems experience, including hands-on development work and object-oriented design.
- 3+ years of proven track record of high-scale hiring and talent management on teams of multiple disciplines/job families.
- Systems engineering experience (e.g., virtualization, hardware design, operating system tuning), experience building scalable infrastructure software or distributed systems
- Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret or above

The base pay for this position ranges from $149,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $258,800/year in our highest geographic market. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree, or CSSLP (Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional)- 5+ years of Software Development or Systems experience, including hands-on development work and object-oriented design.
- 3+ years of proven track record of high-scale hiring and talent management on teams of multiple disciplines/job families.
- Systems engineering experience (e.g., virtualization, hardware design, operating system tuning), experience building scalable infrastructure software or distributed systems
- Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret or above
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
