Systems Architect: Windows or VMWare - AKKODIS

Akkodis is seeking a Systems Architect for a full-time direct hire onsite opportunity in Pleasant Prairie, WI.  Qualified candidates will have 8+ years managing multiple operating systems, including VMWare and Windows, along with 2+ years as an Architect.  The Architect will architect, design, and deliver highly available, reliable, and cost-effective hosting solutions.

Salary Range:  $160-175K; salary negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors

Systems Architect job responsibilities include:

• Obtain requirements from end users, department heads or other IT discipline teams.

• Provide guidance, leadership, and technical expertise for all IT Hosting Services initiatives.

• Architect, solution and perform POC (Proof of Concept) testing and documentation.

• Work with other teams to create an architectural model before moving forward with POC.

• Document, implement and review IT Hosting Services policies, procedures, and solutions.

• Initiate, facilitate and promote activities to foster IT Hosting Services architecture discoveries.

• Initiate, facilitate and promote activities to foster effective Risk Management awareness, including disaster avoidance, change and problem management.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

• Bachelor’s degree

• 8+ years’ experience with multiple operating systems, specifically VMWare or Windows in a large enterprise environment

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Demonstrated ability to manage in a matrix and global organization

• Technical skills in some of the following areas:

VMware

• vCenter

• ESXi

• DRS

• vSAN

• SRM

• vRealize Orchestrator

• Ability to troubleshoot issues regarding VMware (vCenter, ESXi logs, Guest OS...)

Windows

• Server 2016 – 2022

• Windows Deployment Services

• DFS Namespace and Replication

• Windows storage services (Deduplication, file shares, SMB/CIFS)

• Ability to troubleshoot issues on Windows (services, permissions, BSOD...)

o   Architecture

• Storage configuration (disks, clustering, file sharing, high availability...)

• Network configuration (IP, firewalls...)

• Other Windows Roles (Terminal Services, SMTP, IIS, .Net)
