What you’ll do:
We are seeking an experienced Systems Architect to join our team and use advanced technologies to drive transformation in mission-critical services. As a key member of our technical team, you will architect solutions that incorporate AI, Machine Learning, IoT, ArcGIS, RPA, and multi-cloud environments. You will be instrumental in shaping our enterprise architecture, collaborating with both business and technical teams, and ensuring that systems meet business requirements, performance, and security standards.
Location: This is a Hybrid role, base out of Laurel, Maryland.
Responsibilities:
Designs and develops business, data, systems, and infrastructure models to craft comprehensive enterprise architectures.
Plans and strategizes the migration of architectures to ensure seamless transitions between technologies and platforms.
Develops technical reference models, including hardware/software standards, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Engineers integrated hardware and software solutions that meet mission-critical requirements and drive innovation.
Leads the design, prototyping, and modeling of systems that align with business and technical needs.
Ensures system performance, security, and functionality meet business expectations by collaborating with the project team for testing and continuous monitoring.
Leads technical discussions with key stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of system solutions.
Develops strategies for system interface, integration, and optimization of existing systems to enhance overall functionality and efficiency.
Encourages and mentors' development teams to rethink technical assumptions and foster innovative approaches to problem-solving.
Minimum Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field.
Experience:
Twelve (12) years of professional job-related experience with a bachelor’s degree, ten (10) years with a master’s degree, or eight (8) years with a Ph.D. degree.,
Must have hands-on experience performing architecture-related work on at least five (5) IT systems. This ensures familiarity with the design, integration, and implementation of diverse IT infrastructures.
Proven record of accomplishment in taking a significant role in all aspects of architecture on at least two (2) large IT systems. This includes system design, prototyping, performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization.
Application troubleshooting expertise is essential, particularly in the areas of root-cause analysis. You will be expected to analyze complex system issues, diagnose problems, and deliver effective solutions.
Experience with data sources, data flow, and system interactions is crucial. This includes understanding how different systems interact, integrate, and contribute to the overall IT architecture.
Strong background in advanced computer equipment, software applications, and advanced systems design techniques. This includes designing and implementing scalable, high-performance systems.
Ability to develop solutions for complex technical problems, which often require innovative approaches and deep technical ability.
Superior verbal and written communication skills are essential for collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams, presenting complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and business stakeholders.
Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions, ensuring both sides understand the goals, constraints, and solutions.
Demonstrated ability to function well in a team, driving collaboration between business and technical teams to achieve successful project outcomes.
Preferred:
Experienced with utility applications.
Experience with any of the following: AI, Machine Learning, IoT, ArcGIS, RPA, ServiceNow, PowerBI, FileNet, Oracle Utilities Suite, and Multi-cloud environments.
Clearance:
The ability to pass a background check is required.
