The Configuration Management (CM) Specialist position supports the Space Force's Space Systems Command client's Directorate using both a technical advisory and hands-on approach, the CM is responsible for supporting Configuration Management functions using existing engineering processes. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Operating configuration/change management tools (ServiceNow/HelpNow, J-SMART, Confluence)
- Supporting system configuration changes specified by management and other functional groups through the Request for Change (RFC) process
- Facilitating Change Control Board (CCB) meetings
- Providing support for configuration identification, control, reporting, and auditing
- Supporting the maintenance of the Configuration Management Library
- Providing analysis of current processes and providing recommendations for improvement
- Performing tasks to ensure new configuration management baseline operating parameters are documented, comply with standard configurations, and are logistically sustainable
- Assisting in developing and documenting configuration management processes and procedures
- Must Possess and Maintain a Top Secret clearance
- BS 8-10, MS 6-8, PhD 3-5
- 5+ years of experience in large-scale space mission and systems engineering and integration on DoD and IC space programs
- 3+ years of experience developing operational requirements, CONOPS, architectures, use cases, technical specifications, ICDs, and integration plans and roadmaps for space and ground systems
- Experience conducting or supporting space system Preliminary Design Reviews (PDRs), Critical Design Reviews (CDRs), Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs), and System Verification Reviews (SVRs)
- Familiarity with systems engineering standards, including IEEE 15288.1 and IEEE 15288.2
- Ability to be highly motivated, and demonstrate a dynamic work ethic and strong desire to contribute to the DoD mission
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or CS
