Systems Architect (Gaming & Emerging Technologies Integrator)

Job Summary:
Thompson Gray is seeking a Systems Architect (Gaming & Emerging Technologies Integrator) to provide Information Systems architecture, designs, and data driven technical advice to the US Army Futures Command Synthetic Training Environment Cross Functional Team's leadership. Candidate will lead IS-related S&T activities in the STE CFT Technical Integration Facility, engaging with industry and academia to find STE IS applications for advanced technology for transfer into the Synthetic Training Environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with industry partners to iterate on existing commercial technology utilized for training.
- Leverage experience and comprehensive knowledge of general engineering principles, theories, and concepts as a Systems Engineer for implementation of highly complex projects which require application of engineering knowledge and independent judgment and the ability to coordinate difficult and/or critical activities.
- Provide oversight of system architecture of assigned projects using prototyping and proof of concepts.
- Write meaningful user stories to ensure effective product delivery.
- Work with industry partners to blend virtual and constructive synthetic training capabilities together.
- Create, Design, and provide training scenarios for validation of training capabilities.
- Communicate technical concepts to stakeholders across a range of disciplines.
- Promote and ensure the use of modern software development approaches such as test-driven development, continuous integration & deployment, or distributed version control such as GitHub on a software development team
- Maintains consistency with applicable standards, procedures, and implementation methodologies.
- Serves as a key engineering point of contact for assigned projects/programs to all stakeholders including management, other employees, and external parties.
- Provide constructive feedback and persuasion on project/program matters using effective interpersonal skills and abilities.
- Ensures project/program schedules are compatible with organizational objectives, support project/program needs, that can be accomplished within available resources and funding.
Requirements:
- Demonstrated success in R&D technology transfer.
- Demonstrated expertise in simulation-based training performance assessment.
- Demonstrated expertise in training system software design and architecture.
- Skilled in HTML
- Skilled in GML (Game Maker Language)
- Use Cases and Context Diagram
- Web Development
- Relevant industry certification preferred, such as CPA, PMP, CGFM, CDFM, and/or CISA
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suites (especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) preferred
- Location: Orlando, FL
- Full Time (40 hours/ week)
- Degree (Engineering preferred) with a specialty in Military Modeling and Simulation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of SAP based enterprise resource planning (ERP) platforms preferred
- SharePoint or audit response tool experience preferred
- Experience in operating and configuring VBS3 or VBS4 is a plus.
- Experience in developing VBS3 or VBS4 Scripting language is also desired.
