Job Description
The Systems Analyst II serves as a member of the EHR applications team and assumes a lead role in mentoring others, leading meetings, and leading projects and initiatives. The Systems Analyst II is responsible for system and business analysis, software configuration and development, software and environment maintenance. The analyst combines business knowledge with data and information retrieval skills to actively contribute to organizational initiatives. The Systems Analyst II will support multiple business and more complex clinical applications. The analyst works collaboratively with both business and clinical users as well as other IT teams and vendors to support our enterprise-wide goals and initiatives. This position will work with various EHR teams including infrastructure, integration, service desk and vendor to recommend devices, continue growth of integration across platforms, and support end users in the field, as needed, to troubleshoot and resolve application and hardware issues. The Systems Analyst II will recommend upgrades of hardware, software, and/or interfaces that support the end users rendering quality patient care. Gathers information system requirements and, report specifications. Develops change management documentation and other duties as assigned. The Systems Analyst II must be people-oriented with good communication skills to work effectively with clinical and administrative staff to understand the problem(s) from a technology and/or application perspective and work through the issue to resolution.
Responsibilities
- Participates in data and requirements collection to support current needs assessment, software configuration and interface design, implementation, testing, support, and reporting.
- Actively Participates in change management activities to support successful system deployments and enhancements.
- Participates in unit, functional and integrated testing of the software with variety of hardware to ensure that the design objectives are met.
- Provides input into escalation of issues with appropriate internal and/or contracted resources.
- Provides design of workflows and system flows that help to gain efficiencies, meet quality initiatives and improve patient care. Work collaboratively with Application Analysts and Project Managers to translate end user needs into specifications that solve complex workflow issues.
- Complete development or configuration of system changes as specified in requirements documents. Unit tests all work to provide high quality deliverables.
- Responsible for managing small projects to completion on time.
- Actively participates in and sometimes leads team daily management and process improvement activities.
- Actively manages health information technology needs; proactively identifying improvement opportunities for information and technology requirements of the clinical areas served.
Qualifications
Minimum Education
- Bachelor's Degree Computer Information Technology, Health Care Required
Minimum Work Experience
- 2 years information technology/healthcare related experience with an associates degree for the education requirement. Required and
- 5 years healthcare information technology experience Required
- experience with databases, software maintenance and configuration Preferred
