**The School of Dentistry has an outstanding opportunity for a Systems Administrator to join their team.**
The School of Dentistry information technology team supports and advances the use of immerging technology in the clinical, academic, administrative and research areas of the school. The Systems Administrator role is to ensure the security, stability and integrity of the I.T. systems infrastructure at the School of Dentistry. This is achieved by leading the planning, designing, implementation, and maintenance of the administrative, clinical, and research technology infrastructure. Managing infrastructure compliance, data backup procedures, hardware integration, software upgrades, and disaster recovery initiatives.
The Systems Administrator is the lead person managing the architecture, installation, monitoring, maintenance, and optimization of all SoD administrative and clinical systems - axiUm, MiPACS, Dolphin, etc. The person will also be responsible for documenting and over-seeing all policies and procedures relating to the operations and support in the environment. The person also has expertise in the maintenance of the Oracle platform that underpins the axiUm system. This position supports the Dean, faculty, staff and students by establishing and managing a secure, HIPAA-compliant infrastructure and computing environment.
**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Perform server systems analysis, architecture and design
+ Design and manage SoD's delegated Active Directory NetID OU including Group Policy management
+ Configure and update server systems
+ Manage file, print, IIS, MS SQL, Oracle, Sophos AV, Remote Desktop/App services
+ Author scripts and code used in the automated maintenance of the School's IT systems
+ Manage the School's cloud infrastructure located in Microsoft Azure, and within UW-IT's private cloud
+ Proactively manage, monitor, maintain, and document all systems
+ Project management and support responsibilities
+ Create, manage, and maintain system documentation in conjunction with other infrastructure and operations team members
+ Liaison with vendors and other IT support team and end users
+ Manage system risk assessments, author components of the I.T. security plan, disaster recovery plan and business continuity plan.
+ Resolve incidents and problems effectively
+ Support technical elements of business continuity planning
+ Operations and Maintenance of clinical systems platforms (axiUm, MiPACS, and other 2D and 3D imaging systems), including development and training environments
+ Ensure compliance with HIPAA on all clinical systems
+ Act as the subject matter expert / highest level of escalation of all technical issues in the School
+ Manage and continuously improve IT security measures within the School and perform remediations based on risk assessment results.
+ Authentication and identity management
+ Manage School of Dentistry IP subnets and DNS entries
+ Lead Network, Server, and other infrastructure-based projects
+ Audit activities on servers containing PHI.
+ Will coach and mentor the core infrastructure and operations support team.
+ Will assist faculty, staff and students in the use of hardware and software.
+ Coach, mentor and train infrastructure and operations team including the Technical Program Manager, Endpoint and Service Desk Administrator, and Service Desk Technicians. **MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS**
+ Bachelor's degree in computer science, information management, or closely related field, and 3+ years technical experience in systems administration. Equivalent experience may be substituted for degree. **Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.** **ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS**
+ Experience in information technology working with the Microsoft platform client-server technologies.
+ Progressive experience troubleshooting, maintenance-related programming, and production support.
+ Progressive technical experience in designing, implementing and supporting critical, high-availability systems.
+ Progressive of experience participating in or leading IT projects.
