Job Description
LS Technologies, LLC is currently seeking a System Administrator to provide support for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The System Administrator will work as part of a dynamic team to keep systems maintained and optimized through daily, weekly, and monthly patching, upgrades, and tuning when system maintenance is required and perform day-to-day operations and interface with government customers.
Responsibilities
- System Administration & Maintenance:
- Manage, configure, and maintain Windows Server environments, including Windows Server 2012/2016/2019/2022.
- Install, configure, and maintain server hardware and software.
- Implement and monitor system performance, capacity, and uptime.
- Apply operating system patches, updates, and security patches in a timely manner.
- User and Permissions Management:
- Administer Active Directory (AD), including user/group creation, group policies, permissions, and directory services.
- Manage Windows Server services such as DNS, DHCP, File Services, and IIS.
- Troubleshoot and resolve user access issues related to Windows-based systems.
- Backup and Recovery:
- Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery solutions to ensure business continuity.
- Perform regular backup and restoration procedures.
- Security & Compliance:
- Implement and enforce security best practices for the Windows server environment.
- Monitor and configure Windows firewall, antivirus, and endpoint security solutions.
- Perform regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and compliance checks.
- Assist in the development and enforcement of IT security policies and standards.
- Networking & Connectivity:
- Ensure the configuration and troubleshooting of networking components like switches, routers, and VPNs.
- Collaborate with the network team to maintain network connectivity for Windows servers.
- Monitoring & Reporting:
- Use monitoring tools (e.g., OpenText Operations Bridge, System Center Operations Manager, etc.) to monitor system health and performance.
- Generate reports on system performance, usage, and security logs for management review.
- Troubleshooting & Incident Management:
- Provide technical support for Windows-based systems, ensuring timely resolution of system issues.
- Identify and address performance bottlenecks, hardware failures, and software conflicts.
- Participate in incident and problem management processes, ensuring minimal disruption to services.
- Collaboration & Documentation:
- Collaborate with other IT teams to plan and implement infrastructure projects.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation for systems, configurations, and procedures.
- Assist with the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for system administration tasks.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Microsoft Certified: Windows Server (e.g., MCSA, MCSE) required
- Additional certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+) are a plus
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience managing and administering Windows Server environments.
- Hands-on experience with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and other core Windows services.
- Solid understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, VPN, DHCP, DNS, etc.).
- Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions.
- Experience with revision control systems/practices (e.g., Git).
- Experience with Splunk for monitoring, data analysis and visualization.
- Familiarity with server virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
- Linux OS platform experience highly desired.
- Familiarity with Virtualized Environments.
- Familiarity with containerized workloads.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with both technical and non-technical teams.
- Familiarity with scripting languages (PowerShell, batch scripting, etc.) for task automation.
- Knowledge of cloud technologies and hybrid environments (e.g., Azure, AWS) is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Work Requirements:
- Work location: Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center (MMAC), Oklahoma City, OK
- Work Hours: Two-three days on site with normal working hours

Compensation (Pay Bands)
Salary at LST is determined by a wide array of factors, such as (but not limited to) education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, location, and clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
The projected compensation range for this position is provided within the posting and is based on full-time, 40 hour/week status. Part-time staff receive compensation at an hourly rate. The estimated minimum and maximum displayed represents the broadest range for this position (inclusive of high geographic and high clearance requirements) and is just one component of LSTs total compensation package for employees. ** In compliance with local laws, LS Technologies presents this reasonable compensation range as a guideline for roles in California, Colorado, New York, or Washington D.C.
